The 85 Percent Rule
My partner, John Thyden, has an 85 percent rule.
If you can get 85 percent of what you want without trying your case, you ought to take it.
The reason is that legal fees are going to cost at least that much.
And the margin of error in even the most open and shut case is at least 15 percent.
